Our only somewhat responsible parents...

...finally got us bicycle helmets!

New chickies...

Okay here is what happened: Mom and dad were awoken at 2am to the sound of a double homicide in the chicken coop. We've had chickens for over four years: the first time we've lost any. The masked bandit got away empty handed. We need more girls! Here are our Lacewing Wyandottes. So far they are awesome, and the girls are excited to have another go at baby chickie motherhood, though Mama is somewhat less excited.

Let the BBQ's begin!

We had almost two full weeks of gloriously warm and sunny spring weather in May. Hosting a bbq was simply irresistible. Little Audrey loves her uncle Casey. Wookie looks on.
Fun in the bus with buddy Van.

Our new play structure

Papa had been searching craigslist for a year, and he finally found what he was looking for. As you can imagine, it's a huge hit with the kids!

Diffrit Panda

Papa's new motorbike!!!!

Born to be wild
Poor Haven. This was supposed to be a picture of her first motorcycle ride (for one block, through a parking lot.) But she was so afraid just sitting on the motorbike that that's as far as she got. Papa took Mama for a ride on date night and I decided we'll never not have a motorbike again!

An afternoon on the rez

To celebrate the newest member of our neighborhood, Hans Myhre, we ate ice cream cones in the sunshine.
And we also caught a big garden snake in the grass!
Mt Baker and Bellingham from across the bay.

Procession of the species 2012

Audrey was a buzzy bee, Haven was a flower, and I was a sunshine (at Haven's insistence.) And there is our friend Mathilda the penguin. Her parents were the stars of the show this year, they made incredible dung beetle costumes, rolling turd and all... wish I had a good picture to share. We love being a part of this parade, it's always so much fun every year!

Rendezvous 2012

The weather was pretty awesome this year, Haven the monkey sure enjoyed it!
The girls managed to gather three thousand tons of candy from the parade.
We surprised Grampie and Larry with a 60th birthday party. It was great!!
Couple a REAL old farts!
Grammie models the best part of the whole surprise. We had tshirts printed with an old picture of the birthday boys. Under the picture it says, "Two Tacos, Level 60"
Enjoying a delicious chocolate cake which Grammie ordered from a local baker.
Regan and Bill got a babysitter that night and things got a little crazy later on. Other highlights of Rendezvous included Yams McWillie taking second place in the pizza eating contest! This was the third year he made an attempt to enter, the first year he actually got in, and he reports that the guy who took first place deserved it. We all are so proud, and he spent most of the rest of the day sleeping.
Riding the train home.
