Bus ride to the tractor pull

Last weekend was the last tractor pull of the season out in a field near Lynden Washington. William has been excited all summer for this, and we decided to drive the bus out. People came from as far as Tacoma to ride our bus out to Lynden. After not being started for sixteen months, our bus roared to life and we made it just fine. The flat spots on the tires wore out before we were even out of Bellingham. The weather was great and everyone had a fabulous time.

A man and his bus: it's a beautiful thing.

Guard Wook

There is always room for everybody!

It was Audrey's first bus ride: safe to say she LOVED it.

Jess and Haven rest on the way home.

Preschool!

Haven started preschool this week. She was so excited the day before she asked me if she could go to bed at 10am, so it could be tomorrow and she could go to preschool!

It was very important to her that I tell her teacher that she doesn't have to do anything that makes her scared. We told both of her teachers, then she kissed us goodbye and that was that.

After school I took Haven out to a special lunch at a restaurant of her choosing, which was OF COURSE the pancake house. No complaints from Audrey!

Our little girl is getting so big!!! (I only cried a little when I finally left her at school. By then all of the other parents had left and eventually I had to admit to myself she was going to be just fine without me.)

Garden 2010

Come on MOM!!!

I really want to get in!

Big Fun heading south for Labor Day weekend

For Labor Day weekend we drove and drove south. We stopped very briefly and visited some friends in Portland, then continued on down to one of our favorite destinations: the Bay area. We enjoyed my good friend Samuella's awesome wedding and one day in San Francisco. Following are some highlights:

We drove mostly at night, when the children slept, and were therefore quiet. Also, I have been experimenting with some settings on my camera.

Ramona and Haven spent a better part of a day dressing up as princesses, with a pretty minimal amount of bickering over the best shoes.

Sadie Sweetpea and Audrey Lu are friends from the start. Does that look like a baby Sam and a baby Heidi or what?

Sisters play in the garden during the wedding festivities.

YUKA!

On our last day in the Bay area, we took Haven and Audrey to the Best Park Ever~ Golden Gate Park.

Happy baby in a bubble!

Papa still likes to climb, even though it is his day off.

Much to our surprise, the weather was beautiful in San Francisco.

She literally had to be dragged from the park.

Haven's first chess game, in which she beat the pants off her papa. Brian *may* have had a hand in Wm's defeat.

Cauliflower!!!

Holy cow we grew the biggest cauliflower ever!
Haven couldn't wait to dig in... this thing took WEEKS to eat.
